INÉS FERNÁNDEZ VALLEJO

Inés Fernández Vallejo is an engineer specialized in Sound and Image, with a Master’s degree in Machine Learning for Health from UC3M. Her academic work has focused on leveraging artificial intelligence for the detection of diseases and emotions through voice analysis.

Inés has participated in innovative research projects such as POEM-SET, where she contributed to creating virtual environments for medical education in obstetrics in collaboration with universities in Paris, Brussels, Pamplona, and Madrid. She also worked on TRAUMAT-IA, developing multimodal models that combine voice, video, and transcript data to detect trauma in children and adolescents, in partnership with UC3M and the Psychiatry Group of the Gregorio Marañón Health Research Institute. Another notable project is PD-RADAR, which focuses on detecting Parkinson’s disease through voice formants; her work in this area was presented at the MIT Automatic Assessment of Parkinsonian Speech conference in 2024.

Currently, Inés volunteers with 11F, an association promoting women in STEM fields, and mentors young talent through ASTI’s STEM Talent Girl program.

Her passion for technology and research, along with her curiosity and creativity, drive her to continue innovating and exploring new possibilities for using technology to improve lives, particularly in healthcare applications.
